Hearing the views of citizens, patients and carers

Would you like to contribute to recommendations to the Secretary of State for Health on how to improve the way information is shared in health and social care?

We are holding a series of workshops over the summer centred around patients, service users and carers and would very much welcome your input. We are running the workshops in 3 different locations:

25 July –  Leeds
8 August – Birmingham
22 August – Oxford

The sessions are designed to capture the views of patients, service users and carers. The 3 key areas we’d like to explore are:

1.     Your experience of how appropriately your information has been shared and not shared,
2.     Your expectations for access to and control of your health and social care information (including carers’ access and control),
3.     How you think your information should be used and shared in the future (e.g. for your care, for research etc)

We’re looking for views from both patients, service users and carers and organisations who support them. Each session will be 90 minutes long. We’d really value your views and we invite you to book onto the most convenient session for you by emailing fiona.caldicott@dh.gsi.gov.uk. Places are filling up quickly so please get in touch as soon as possible to secure your place.
